With two weeks from the Pines awakening with Gabby magic and allure, it sounds like most Gabby Guys are busy in preparation for our annual trek into Potter County for the Gabby’s Opening Day on Kettle Creek, Saturday morning. After great difficulty and multiple attempts on performing a predictive head count with our Founder, almost like in camp, we arrived at a potential 16 Gabby Guys, and two rookies, for this year. Of course this will be ratified during the annual meeting after several cycles of counting.
Shanksylvania B&B (976 Hall Rd. Snow Shoe, PA) will open its doors for Gabby travelers on Gabby Eve, Wednesday, April 13th. The Mad German will host a Tannerite Shoot Off on Dr. Trout’s Lane in the afternoon, Venison Vick will prepare a dinner worthy for all Gabby Guys in attendance with Appalachian Andy’s Vineyard supplying cordials, and entertainment in the evening will be provided by Rustic Rob and the Clodhoppers. Following a late night of pre-Gabby celebration, those at the B&B will head up to the Pines, or the Senior Hostel, Thursday morning.
Fire Guy Too is expected to arrive early in the Pines with his attorney, Julius, Wednesday in tow with the new Collianville 4, a whopping 50 x 50 foot canopy. A full cord of firewood is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday by our new supplier, Fisher’s Firewood. Kettle Creek is forecasted to be stocked a second time at the bridge upstream the week before “our” opening day, so fishing should be great.
Safe Travels to all my Gabby Guys and see you in the Pines. Wet lines!
